Hello!
Our family consists of my husband (an engineer like me!), our very
inquisitive 8-yr-old son (who loves all things Lego and football), our
sweet little 4-yr-old daughter (who's world is dominated by barbies and
stuffed animals), and of course our very wiggly and friendly black lab.
For the first four years after having my beautiful baby boy, I worked
full-time. But, I spent a great deal of time with the sense that I was
missing very precious years. So, when our sweet lil' princess was born I
changed my job title to stay-at-home mom.
Cutting our
income in half has affected our ability to just pick up and travel.
However, through careful planning, we still have been able to take our
kids many near and far places. Besides travel, we love to expand our
routine and our palates by focusing on making fun ethnic foods. I
encourage my kids to select a new item in the grocery store and add it
to our cart, for us to all try at home. Breaking out of the well worn
path proves to be something exciting for all of us.
And
a big mantra for our family is that - if you won't try new things, then
you can't go on family vacations! This has led both of our kids to be
fairly daring in what they will at least try. I really want our kids to
be adaptable in new and different situations, because it is a necessary
quality in life.
